SERUDS has been working since 2003 through its need-based programs focused on access to education, food, livelihood training and healthcare.

Child Development in India

Seruds started the child welfare programs in the year 2003. During floods in 2009 in AP, we started creche program for kids of women working in hazardous jobs. When we were working for the flood relief activities, the community asked us to start the day care centers for their children when parents go out to work.
The child related issues that poor people face in Andhra Pradesh are?

• Malnutrition
• Drop out of school
• Run away from home to become street child
• Take to petty crime
• Put to Child labor
• Early marriage, leading to early child bearing and resultant health issues of young mothers
• Child abuse
• Substance abuse
• Illness leading to poor mortality rates

We focus on:-

• Rehabilitating and providing education, shelter and food to economically backward, child labourers, disabled, orphans and semi orphans.
• Sensitizing destitute women and adolescent girls for their rights & entitlements.
• Ladies Empowerment and promoting SHGs.
• Sponsoring midday meals and groceries for old age groups, to enable them to get timely food.
• Providing relief and rehabilitation to the victims of Natural Calamities like floods and droughts
• Enlightening and educating the indigenous people and remote rural masses.
• Spreading awareness among the public on health & sanitation, education, environment, consumer rights, road safety and other socio economic rights particularly Human rights
• Promoting scientific temper and establish IT in grass roots
• Spreading awareness about HIV/ AIDS, TB, Malaria and conduct medical health camps for the remote rural tribes.
• Organizing seminars, impact studies, workshops, research study and awareness campaign on educational policies, statistics, health, legal issues, women and children developmental activities.
• Encouraging sustainable agricultural development and organic farming.
• Establishing unity, integrity and communal harmony.
• Encouraging adult education among rural masses and slum dwellers.
• Working for persons with disability.

Online Donations For Charity

SERUDS started Joy Home Children Orphanage in Budhavarapeta, Kurnool in December 2012. Today Joy Home shelters 42 boys and girls in the age group of 4 to 16 years. These abandoned orphan, street children are belongs to different family backgrounds like father died with HIV/AIDS and mother committed suicide, father is drunken and mother left children & living with other person, both parents died due to personal reasons. In this critical juncture we identified and bought the children to SERUDS Children Home – Joy Home. We think that if someone not cares about these unfortunate children at this situation they may become anti-social elements in the society. That is why we strictly follow & give importance to keep them in good shelter, provide education support, counselling and motivation about career, extracurricular activities, sports and games.

If you wish to sponsor these abandoned orphan children for their education, food sponsorship you are welcome. If you are not in Kurnool Town, you can send your known people to Our Children Home to spend time with these Orphan Children. Children also feel that someone is caring about our future and feel happy.
